The Beach as an Ambition

For me, the beach is far more than a place. It is where humanity gathers.

The wave becomes a meeting point between land and ocean, while the countless circular forms evoke people from every culture and every horizon, united by a shared relationship with the sea. Like communities of ocean lovers, they stand together to protect what connects us all.

Created with natural pigments from France, sand collected on Gumbaynggirr Country (with permission), and Australian healing clay, the painting reflects my ongoing exploration of belonging, connection and our responsibility toward the living world.

Rather than separating us, the shoreline reminds us that every wave touches us equally. It is a place where differences dissolve and where a shared future begins.
