This large-scale painting was born from a reflection on the many ways women have been silenced, excluded or controlled throughout history. The textured layers evoke the invisible marks left by oppression, while the natural pigments and healing clay speak of resilience, dignity and renewal.

The title, Ostracisées ("Ostracised"), honours every woman whose voice has been dismissed, whose body has been judged, whose freedom has been restricted, or whose choices have been questioned. Rather than portraying victimhood, the work celebrates the strength to rise, reconnect and reclaim one's place.

The colours move between earth, light and deep pinks, transforming vulnerability into quiet power. By combining pigments gathered with permission on Gumbaynggirr Country, pigments from France and Australian healing clay, the painting becomes a gesture of solidarity that transcends borders.
