  Au-dessus des nuages / Above the Clouds was begun during the COVID pandemic, when I felt overwhelmed by the relentless flow of contradictory and anxiety-inducing information. Faced with so much uncertainty, I made a conscious decision to disconnect from every source of news and retreat into a state of deep calm. Painting became a refuge—a place where silence replaced fear and where I could regain perspective rather than be consumed by the chaos surrounding me.

  Several years later, I returned to the work with renewed clarity. I added the delicate white circles that now weave across the composition, forming an intricate network of organic connections. These flowing patterns evoke the invisible threads that bind all living beings together, reminding us that even in times of isolation, we remain profoundly connected to one another and to the world around us.

  Created with acrylic and natural pigments sourced from France and Italy, the painting reflects my ongoing exploration of materiality and place. The earthy palette of ochres, warm browns and muted blues creates a landscape suspended between memory and imagination. Rather than depicting a physical location, the work invites the viewer into an inner landscape shaped by resilience, stillness and quiet reflection.
