Tergiversions dorées – Golden Dithers is an original abstract painting shaped by time, transformation and an unexpected journey. Begun in 2021 and completed in 2025, the work evolved over four years, without a predetermined destination. Each new layer responded to what came before, allowing the painting to gradually find its own direction.
The vibrant palette moves through deep reds, pinks, ochres and violet tones, illuminated by passages of gold pigment. These golden elements emerged through the evolution of the work and became a metaphor for accomplishment — not as something reached by following a perfectly defined path, but as something that can arise through experience, encounters, uncertainty and change.
The painting’s layered surface carries traces of its different stages. Rather than erasing the hesitations and changes of direction that shaped it, the work incorporates them. This slow process reflects an essential part of my practice, where time, experimentation and transformation become part of the artwork itself.
Tergiversions dorées – Golden Dithers is a one-of-a-kind contemporary abstract painting celebrating the possibility of finding beauty and accomplishment through an imperfect path. It suggests that a destination does not need to be known from the beginning — and that sometimes our detours are precisely what give a journey its richness.
